so we (foster/jenkins/eubanks trio) played a show here in Ann Arobor last nite with this band birth. They were rather strange....live drum and bass with a drummer instead of a drm machine. He was a machine. It was very disconcerting to see someone play that fast and tight. They seemed to be on the John Zorn tip a little and alot of the heads sounded vaguely Masada-ish. We palyed with them for a song tho and it was totally free and really pretty cool. They were stellar musicians and very responsive in a free setting which was really outside their usual thing. They also gave us some hook ups in the Boston/NY area. The point being I guess that it has been really an eye opener going on tour and meeting all these amazing folks. Everyone has been incredibly gracious and beautiful. I think that staying in one place for too long kinda makes me bitter and stuck. Travelling has opened up alot positivity in me and makes me look forward to the next coupla weeks.....
