imagine that.

I went to a show last evening and really had a cool time. My friend hooked me up with a usher gig in exchange for seeing the show for free so I bit. There were 3 dancers and 3 musicians improvising. I was into the first 2 but not the last. The bassist from the group "Oregon" was kinda tired. Point? bingo---) that is ....I was talking to Joe after and got to the conclusion that what I was least liking in the performance was the fact that there were innumerable moments where there was a feeling that they (dancers) were moving in ways that were not particularly intended...IE they had muscle memory that was deciding their dance more than their concious decision making..... but to complicate things for myself I resticted that by thinking about how with an instrument you can hide behind technique or "genre" a little more whereas with dance it is much harder because we read so much about people thru their movement and so naturally we have a much more intuitive/deep understanding of that form of communication....strange.

I feel like the time is rapidly approaching where I start doing dance/performance...ala Lathican(sp?) amongst the Subud or butoh....
